CO53 is a design practice founded by Sharona Cramer and Yotam Oron at 53 2nd Ave NYC

Yotam Oron

is an architect and urbanist based in NYC and TLV, and currently a Princeton | CAC Fellow.

He holds a post-professional Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture, where his joint thesis on collective land ownership and community-led development received the Independent Design Research Award.

Yotam earned his B.Arch with honors from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, receiving the Azrieli Foundation Prize for his thesis Dead Space and the Joseph Vaada Bolafio Prize for excellence in architectural history and theory.

His work spans design, research, and teaching, including roles at firms in Tel Aviv (WVA, BOA, HQA), collaborations with Prof. Michael Turner (UNESCO), teaching in advanced design studios at Bezalel Academy, and serving as a Teaching Fellow in the Urban Lab at Yale. He continues to focus on housing affordability, land ownership, and alternative development models.

Sharona Cramer

is an architect and designer based in NYC and TLV.

She holds a post-professional Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture, where his joint thesis on collective land ownership and community-led development received the Independent Design Research Award. She earned her B.Arch with honors from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, graduating first in her class and receiving the 2020 Azrieli Foundation Prize.

​She previously worked at leading architecture firms in Tel Aviv (StudioPEZ, BOA, HQA) where she led projects of various scales - most notably the winning proposal for the Mikve Israel school campus at StudioPEZ.​

From 2021 to 2023, Sharona was a founding team member and studio tutor at the Negev School of Architecture. She has taught and served as TA in design studios and seminars at Yale School of Architecture and Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design.
